A live performance and video work for galleries where untrained, queer bodies borrow from the body-assist stunts and effects of action film craft, stripped of their behind-the-scenes aesthetic, to examine the destabilising experience of witnessing and living within this time of multiple, simultaneous global disasters.
Primarily visual arts-based, contemporary artists Emily Parsons-Lord and Shan Turner-Carroll have practices that explore themes of nature, climate, and the real in the artifice. During Adhocracy, for the first development of this ambitious new work, they will collaborate with choreographic, film and theatre artists to test technology, their bodies, and to begin creating a shared visual and movement language.
