A project of experimental methodology and long-term collaboration between the artists, utilising adaptative ritual movement practice and its documentation. The process features embodiment, poetics, remoteness, silence and listening, and a radical regard for the concept of rest/withdrawal in relation to decolonisation and visibility.
Artists Joshua Pether and Daisy Sanders both subvert ‘choreography’ through ritual and rest, with a shared curiosity for reclamation of time, body, and history. During Adhocracy they will test, deepen, and document their collaboration, generating movement and text together and apart, exploring duration and distance, and inviting others to witness and reflect upon the doing of art and relationality.
