A new multimedia performance for large-scale public screens. The project explores how traditional public demonstration can intersect with the digital realm, carving out space for different forms of participation in a political conversation, and expanding our understandings of emancipatory, hybrid, public space.
Katie Sfetkidis is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores feminist and political histories and their impact on the contemporary lives of women. For the development of this project at Adhocracy, she will be conducting research with older female-identifying local activists, as well as experimenting with political ephemera including banners, flags, and placards, developing the work’s sonic language and text, and testing elements within a digital platform.
